V. Corregidor

August 6, I took the 3 foreign guests to Corregidor.

During World War II, Corregidor played an important role during the invasion and liberation of the Philippines from Japanese forces. Heavily bombarded in the latter part of the war, the ruins left on the island serve as a military memorial to American, Filipino and Japanese soldiers who served or lost their lives on the island. Corregidor is one of the important historic and tourist sites in the country. (reference).

At first, I was a little worried that Takahiro Sato, a Japanese, might be offended by bringing him to Corregidor. But, in reality he appreciated the historical value of Corregidor. In fact, there were quite a few Japanese who joined our tour.

At about 12:00pm, the bus driver brought us to the Corregidor Inn for a buffet lunch. And at about 1:00pm, the last leg of the tour, we went to the optional Light and Sound show at Malinta Tunnel. From there, the bus driver brought us to the ferry port and we were on our way back to Manila.

We arrived in Manila at about 4:00pm. Then we walked toward Mall Of Asia (MOA) which is very near. As we walked, we passed by a Chow King fast food restaurant. We entered and ordered their famous halo halo. Afterwards, we continue our walk to MOA proper. We went around MOA, went window shopping. At about 7:00pm, we meet my sister Yvonne and her son Jahzon at the olympic size ice skating rink inside MOA. We took our supper in one of the restaurants in MOA. Then we went home for a good night rest.

But when we were approaching the entrance to the village, Jahzon remembered that we planned to have the foreign guests experience a ride in a Philippine tricycle. So we asked the 3 guests to get down the car and let them ride the tricycle going home.
